Troubleshooting

Payment Declined

Error Message:

Payment failed: Your card was declined.

Common Causes:

  • Insufficient funds
  • Card expired
  • Incorrect billing address
  • Card issuer blocking the charge
  • Daily spending limit exceeded

Solutions:

  1. Try a different card - Add another payment method
  2. Contact your bank - Verify the charge wasn't flagged as suspicious
  3. Check billing address - Must match card on file
  4. Update expired card - Add new expiration date

Payment Succeeded But Credits Not Added

Rare issue: Payment processed but credits didn't appear in your balance.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Wait 2-3 minutes - Processing delay is normal
  2. Refresh the page - Hard refresh (āŒ˜ā‡§R or Ctrl+Shift+R)
  3. Check purchase history - Verify transaction status
  4. Contact support - If still missing after 10 minutes

Include in support request:

  • Transaction timestamp
  • Amount charged
  • Last 4 digits of card used
  • Expected credit amount

Duplicate Charges

If you see multiple charges for the same purchase:

Causes:

  • Clicking "Purchase" multiple times (don't do this!)
  • Browser refresh during payment
  • Network timeout causing retry

Solution:

  1. Check your purchase history in WaymakerOne
  2. Check your Stripe receipt emails
  3. If truly duplicate, contact support@waymakerone.com with:
    • Both transaction IDs
    • Charge amounts and timestamps
    • Request refund for duplicate

Prevention: Click "Purchase" once and wait for confirmation. Don't refresh during payment.

Can't Add Payment Method

Error when trying to add a card:

Possible causes:

  • Browser blocking Stripe popup
  • Ad blocker interfering
  • Cookies disabled
  • Unsupported card type

Solutions:

  1. Disable ad blockers temporarily
  2. Enable popups for waymakerone.com
  3. Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
  4. Use incognito/private mode to rule out extensions
  5. Clear browser cache and try again

Best Practices

1. Start Small

For new developers:

  • Purchase $10 (1,100 credits) to start
  • Monitor usage for 1-2 weeks
  • Understand consumption patterns
  • Scale up based on actual needs

Avoid: Purchasing $100 immediately without understanding usage.

2. Purchase Based on Usage

Review your usage analytics before purchasing:

  1. Check API Usage dashboard
  2. Note average credits per day/week
  3. Calculate 2-4 week supply
  4. Add 20% buffer for spikes

Example calculation:

Average usage: 50 credits/day
30-day supply: 50 Ɨ 30 = 1,500 credits
With 20% buffer: 1,500 Ɨ 1.2 = 1,800 credits
Recommended purchase: $25 (2,750 credits)

3. Consider Auto Top-Up

For production applications:

  • Enable Auto Top-Up instead of manual purchases
  • Set threshold to trigger before running out
  • Set monthly spending limit for budget control
  • Prevents service interruptions

Manual purchasing works best for:

  • Development and testing
  • Unpredictable usage patterns
  • Tight budget control

4. Keep Payment Method Current

Maintain valid payment information:

  • Check expiration dates quarterly
  • Update before cards expire
  • Have a backup payment method
  • Monitor failed payment notifications
